Prices change from time to time. Apple raised the monthly rate from $9.99 to $12.99 in August 2025, so it pays to check the app before you sign up. 

What Do You Get With Apple TV+ Subscriptions 

Apple TV Plus is a single, ad-free plan. There are no separate tiers with fewer features or forced ads, unlike most other streaming apps. Every subscriber gets the same access: 

• Every Apple Original show and movie, including Severance, Slow Horses, and The Studio

Apple TV Plus Base Plan Subscription Price 

Apple TV Plus’s base plan subscription is a standard, standalone tier. It costs $12.99 a month in the US and includes the entire content library. 

There’s no cheaper version with ads and no separate charge for 4K streaming or sports. You pay one flat fee, and every title in the catalog is included. This is different from services like Peacock or Paramount+, which charge extra to remove ads or turn on 4K. 

Outside the US, pricing shifts with local currency. UK subscribers pay £9.99 a month, and Australian subscribers pay AU$15.99 a month. Apple TV Plus is sold in more than 100 countries, so check the App Store in your region for your exact rate. 

Monthly vs. Annual Billing 

You get two ways to pay for the base plan: 

• Monthly billing costs $12.99 and renews every 30 days. Cancel any time with no fee. 

• Annual billing costs $99.99 a year, which works out to about $8.33 a month. That’s a savings of roughly $56 over paying monthly for twelve months. 

Pick monthly if you’re not sure you’ll keep the service. Pick annual once you know Apple TV Plus is a permanent part of your streaming lineup. 

Free Trial Options 

Apple gives new subscribers a few ways to try the service before paying. 

• 7-day free trial: Available to anyone who hasn’t subscribed before. Sign up in the Apple TV app or at tv.apple.com, and cancel before day seven if you don’t want to be charged. 

• 3 months free with a new device: Buy a new iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV 4K, and you can claim three free months. You must redeem the offer within 90 days of setting up the device, and it only works once per Family Sharing group. 

• Student offer: Verified students on the Apple Music Student Plan get Apple TV Plus at no extra charge for as long as the student plan stays active. 

• Carrier deals: Some carriers, including T-Mobile, bundle Apple TV Plus into qualifying plans for a reduced monthly add-on fee. 

Set a reminder before any trial ends. Apple charges the full rate automatically once the trial period closes. 

Apple One Bundle Pricing 

If you already pay for other Apple services, Apple One usually costs less than paying for each one on its own. 

A household paying separately for Apple Music Family, Apple TV Plus, Apple Arcade, and 200GB of iCloud+ storage would spend close to $43 a month. The Family tier of Apple One covers the same services for $27.95, a real savings if you already use those apps. 

Apple One only pays off when you actually use the bundled services. If you’d never pay for Apple Fitness+ or News+ on their own, the Individual or Family tier makes more sense than Premier. 

How to Manage Apple TV plus Subscription 

You can manage the Apple TV+ subscription settings from any Apple device, or from a browser if you’re on Android or PC. 

On iPhone or iPad: 

• Open Settings. 

• Tap your name at the top of the screen. 

• Tap Subscriptions. 

• Select Apple TV plus from the list. 

• Change your plan, change billing dates, or update payment information. 

On Apple TV 4K: 

• Go to Settings. 

• There select Profiles and Accounts. 

• After selecting your profile, then Subscriptions. 

• Select Apple TV + and follow the on-screen options. 

On Mac: 

• Open the App Store app. 

• Click your name, then Account Settings. 

• Scroll to Subscriptions and click Manage. 

• Find Apple TV + and click on ‘Edit‘ to change your plan. 

On a browser (Android, Windows, or any computer): 

• Visit tv.apple.com. 

• Sign in with your Apple ID. 

• Click the account icon, then Settings. 

• Scroll to Subscriptions and select Manage. 

If you’ve subscribed through Amazon or Google Play, you can only manage billing from that store, not directly from Apple. 

How to Cancel Apple TV Plus 

The process of cancelling is similar to managing a plan. On an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > [Your name] > Subscriptions > Apple TV +, then tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. 

A few things to know before you cancel: 

• Even after cancellation, you will continue to get access till the end of your current billing period. 

• Apple TV Plus saves your watch history and Up Next queue for several months, so you can pick up where you left off if you resubscribe. 

• Canceling one part of an Apple One bundle removes it from the bundle. The rest of your Apple One services keep billing at their standalone rate unless you cancel the full bundle. 

• You’ll get a confirmation email at your Apple ID address. Keep it for your records. 

Ways to Pay Less for Apple TV Plus 

A few simple habits can lower what you actually spend on the service over a year. 

• Choose annual billing: Once you know you’ll keep the app. It saves about $56 a year over the monthly rate. 

• Time your subscription around new seasons: Some viewers subscribe for one month to watch new episodes of a favorite show, then cancel until the next big release. 

• Bundle it inside Apple One: If you already pay for Apple Music or need more iCloud+ storage. 

• Check your carrier plan: A handful of carriers include Apple TV Plus in higher-tier plans for a few dollars a month. 

• Use device or student offers: The first time you’re eligible, since most can only be claimed once per household. 

Is Apple TV Plus Worth the Cost? 

At $12.99 a month, Apple TV Plus is one of the cheapest ad-free streaming plans on the market. Paramount+ and several rivals now charge more for a comparable ad-free tier. 

The catalog is smaller than Netflix or Prime Video. Apple TV Plus leans on original shows and movies instead of a large licensed library. If you already watch Severance, Slow Horses, or the live sports lineup, the price is easy to justify. If you’re looking for a huge back catalog to browse, you may want a bigger service alongside it.
